CLEARFIL™ SE BOND is a light-curing bonding system consisting of a self-etching primer and a bonding agent. The water-based primer enables the simultaneous treatment of enamel and dentin in one step. The patented MDP monomer helps to eliminate postoperative sensitivities. Direct skin contact with the contents of the bottles is avoided by the practical “Intelly Case”. The necessity to open the individual bottles has been eliminated, avoiding the risks of skin allergies. Moreover, the system prevents waste.

CLEARFIL™ PROTECT BOND develops an antibacterial effect with respect to the relevant causes of caries. The antibacterial effect of the MDPB monomer has been convincingly shown in single and comparison tests. Examinations by the Pulp Biology Group (University of Birmingham) show a clear reduction of cultivatable bacteria from MDPB in cavity preparations in teeth with natural caries. Yet no harmful effects on the vitality of the odontoblasts and fibroblasts were determined. Three more studies were concerned with possible biological effects.
